Liked my floor a lot but was frequently floated. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
Super busy crazy tele floor. Did not have enough CNA, made assignments scattered and down 4 hallways, lots of running
Staff nurses and management treat travel nurses so well. Acuity was good for location and type of hospital.
Unfortunately the majority of the nurses that are closest to management with the most pull at this hospital are shitty and racist. They also like to eat their young. They know they can’t be touched so they treat coworkers however they want. It is a small town with low minority population but I’ve never seen nurses be so openly racist before. Hopefully KU takes some power away from these nurses.
definitely like to eat their young. not a great place for new grads. it’s destroying my mental health actually!
A lot of snakes and two faced sad high school wanna be 40 something year old nurses calling the shots. If you’re a new grad, RUN. They will make your life miserable because they are miserable and jealous of the younger nurses with their lives ahead of them. If you know what I mean, you know what I mean.
I have a new job now so I can post this. The nurses who were in charge all seemed to be old, fat and bitter. I’m sorry but just because your hair is thinning and you don’t fit in a standard sized chair doesn’t mean you have to try extra hard to act better than everyone and put everyone else down! It’s very clear you are not. No matter how many tests you pass and certifications you get… you are not that girl. These nurses are the type to write you up for not moving fast enough with your 6+ patient load while not lifting a finger and getting out of breath walking to the printer. Hopefully they go on ozempic and become less lazy and bitter.
understaffed
avoid working here at all costs. there is one extremely obese night charge nurse who is the most miserable snake you’ll ever meet and makes it her life mission to make everyone else around her miserable.
They are severely understaffed especially on nights and refuse to close their doors, putting RNs at very unsafe ratios and responsibilities. They need more help. They need more techs. An RN should not have to be doing the job of 5 different people just because it’s “within our scope”.
